M6 Fixing Set for Insulated Facade, Black (5 pcs.) is designed for mounting various elements through the facade insulation layer into the load-bearing wall. The set includes five 330 mm long A2 stainless steel M6 threaded rods and five black RAL 9005 M6 nut caps for a neat finished appearance.
The standard set is suitable for facades with insulation thicknesses up to 250 mm. For thinner insulation, the threaded rods can be shortened, while for insulation thicker than 250 mm, we can supply longer M6 threaded rods on request.
Drill through the facade insulation layer into the load-bearing wall and insert the SHARK® TWIST 10×56 wall plugs. Screw the standard M6 nuts and M6 cap nuts onto the threaded rods. Turn the cap nuts to screw the threaded rods into the wall plugs to the required depth.
Once the threaded rods are installed, remove the M6 cap nuts and adjust the standard M6 nuts so that they protrude approximately 1 mm beyond the facade surface. Leave approximately 5 mm between the standard M6 nuts and the cap nuts for the element being mounted. Position the element on the threaded rods and secure it by tightening the M6 cap nuts. Finally, fit the black RAL 9005 nut caps over the cap nuts. For detailed step-by-step instructions with illustrations, see our technical guide How to Fix Through an Insulated Facade?
How many fixing points are included in this set?
The set is designed for five fixing points. It includes 5 threaded rods, 5 wall plugs, 5 M6 nuts, 5 M6 cap nuts and 5 black RAL 9005 M6 nut caps.
What are the black nut caps used for?
The black RAL 9005 caps are fitted over the M6 cap nuts after installation, providing a neat finished appearance and concealing the metal nuts.
What insulation thickness is this fixing set suitable for?
The standard set with 330 mm threaded rods is suitable for facade insulation thicknesses up to 250 mm.
Can the fixing set be used with insulation thicker than 250 mm?
Yes. On request, we can supply the set with longer M6 threaded rods for thicker insulation layers.
Why should the standard M6 nuts protrude from the facade?
The standard M6 nuts should protrude approximately 1 mm beyond the facade surface so that the mounted element rests against the nuts and does not compress the facade finish when tightened.
