Before installing a flag holder, it is important to choose a suitable mounting location and fixing method. The fixing elements should be selected according to the wall substrate – timber, concrete or masonry – while an insulated façade requires a fixing solution that transfers the load to the load-bearing wall.
Before starting the installation, prepare the necessary tools, check the wall construction and make sure that there are no concealed electrical cables, pipes or other services in the selected mounting area.
Choose the holder according to the required number of flagpoles, their position and the intended mounting location. The flag holder should be installed on a stable substrate and positioned so that the raised flag can hang freely without touching the roof, windows, downpipes or other parts of the building.
Different single, double, triple and decorative models are available in our flag holders category.
Depending on the wall substrate and fixing method, you may need a drill, a suitable drill bit, measuring and marking tools, a spanner, a hammer and other installation tools. Before drilling, identify the wall substrate and select fixing elements suitable for that particular material.

Position the flag holder against the wall, align it correctly and mark the drilling or screw fixing points through the mounting holes. Before drilling, check the holder position and the distances between the marked fixing points once again.

Fixing to timber
When installing the holder on a timber substrate, A2 stainless steel wood screws can be used. Depending on the type of timber, screw diameter and mounting position, drilling smaller pilot holes before installing the screws may be useful.

Fixing to concrete or masonry
For installation on concrete or suitable masonry, use plugs and screws appropriate for the wall substrate. Drill holes of the correct diameter and depth for the selected plugs, remove drilling dust, insert the plugs and secure the holder. A ready-to-use solution is available in our concrete fixing set.

Fixing through an insulated façade
With an insulated façade, the holder should not be fixed only to the façade finish or insulation layer. The fixing must reach the load-bearing wall, and the fixing points at the façade surface must be properly prepared and sealed. Suitable products are available in the flag holder mounting category.
For detailed step-by-step instructions, see How to Fix Through an Insulated Façade.

Once the fixing points are prepared, position the holder against the wall and tighten all fixing elements evenly. The holder should sit securely against the prepared substrate without movement. Do not overtighten the fixings in a way that could damage or deform the façade finish.
After installation, check the stability of the holder once again, insert the flagpole and make sure that the flag and pole can move freely without contacting other parts of the building.

Wall construction, substrate material and the loads acting on a flag holder can vary. Fixing elements must therefore be selected according to the specific substrate and expected load. If the wall construction or suitable fixing method is unclear, consult a qualified specialist.
